The Lakewood Cultural Center located at Ohio and S. Wadsworth in Lakewood is hosting the 35th Annual Cider Days. To include, Apple Pie Baking Contest, pie eating contest, petting zoo, organic cider, demonstrations, and more. It runs Saturday and Sunday, October 2nd and 3rd, 10AM -5PM. Admission is 303-987-7850
If you feel like going on a day trip and maybe even taking a weekend you should go to the Happy Apple Farm in Penrose. Penrose is just before Canon City, you could spend the weekend and also visit the Royal Gorge. The Happy Apple Farm has berries, 14 varieties of apples, potatoes and more. Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Patch offers a Fall Festival through October. For only $7 they let you in for the day to enjoy a self-guided tour. The kids get to paint a pumpkin, use the bouncy obstacle course, feed the animals, corn maze, hay bale maze and they can also observe a honey bee colony. Tours are offered M-F 9-5.
