Vita Restaurant Denver

Vita Restaurant patio We stepped out to Vita Restaurant recently to enjoy American fare from their lunch menu. We sat on the rooftop patio for this beautiful Colorado Saturday afternoon.

The patio was packed, mostly with young 20 somethings celebrating St. Patricks day.  We found  a table  and asked for menus.  Our drink was not taken until after our lunch was ordered, that made for a long wait.  I was all hoping for tablecloths of some kind.  I think maybe the outside is geared for drinking and the inside is for dining.  The inside was super plush, looks great for a date!

We ordered:

Grilled Ham n’ Cheese  - Black forest ham, Gruyere, romaine, red onion, Panini bread

ham and cheeseThis was delicious, moist and tasty. The fries were not too memorable, somewhat dry.

Applewood smoked Bacon and Cheddar Burger - Cheddar cheese, crispy onions, lettuce, tomato, bacon, served on a Challah bun

cheeseburger

Looks delicious right!?  I ordered it medium well and it came out well done – so dry.  So sad for a gorgeous cheeseburger to be so dry.  Same with the fries, over cooked.

Sliders -  Shaved Roast Beef, spicy Argentinian salsa

These were delicious!  The homemade chips were crisp and fresh.

Antipasto – Fontina, Marinated Artichokes and Olives with Fresh Bread

Cheese & Olives

Fresh, delicious, the perfect balance of cheese, olives and bread!

The 20th Street Cafe, Downtown Denver

20th_St_Cafe

There are very few restaurants in Denver that can claim the have been around for over 66 years!  This is a true gem, good food, GREAT people!  Walking into the 20th Street Cafe, located at 20th & Arapahoe, is like tasking a step back in time.  The decor, the booths, the cash register, the breakfast bar, complete nostalgia.  The real thing!

The food is basic and delicious.  We ordered cheese omelettes with hash browns, bacon, oatmeal and pancakes.  We were not disappointed.  The omelette was perfectly cooked and had the right amount of melted cheddar cheese.  The bacon was also cooked to perfection!  The pancakes did not disappoint either.  The oatmeal was served hot, it was a healthy portion too.  We all literally cleaned our plates.

Stop by and see why they have been in business since 1946.  A great place to eat and enjoy the nostalgia.

Fresh Tortillas in Central Denver

There is truly nothing like a fresh tortilla, really.  You know the ones you feel for at the store, soft and still doughy, delicious!

You can head down to the Tortillas Mexico Factory and pick some up anytime of day!  Just park by the big bay door and walk right in.

It might be cash and carry, so definitely bring cash.  Not only are these tortillas fresh from the factory but the prices are much cheaper than buying them from the store.

Who could ask for more? Fresh tortillas at a bargain!
