The Colorado Rockies’ – For years, Denver Baseball Fans dreamed of having a Major League ball club; their patience paid off in 1993. City efforts paid off and The Colorado Rockies were created as an expansion franchise. They began playing in Coors Field, a state of the art ballpark in 1995. The Rockies advanced to the playoffs in 1995 but were eliminated in the first round. In 2007, the Rockies’ advanced to the playoffs and won the NL Championship Series. Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos, -Owned by Pat Bowlen and currently under the leadership of head coach Josh McDaniel’s, have drawn crowds of 70,000 plus fans since their AFL origins in the early 1960s. The Broncos current home is INVESCO Field at Mile High, and they have advanced to the Super Bowl six times winning back-to-back titles in 1997 and ’98.

Colorado Rapids
The Major League Soccer team Colorado Rapids play in Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, an 18,000-seat stadium opened for the 2007 MLS season and located in Commerce City, a suburb of Denver. In 2006, Denver established a professional outdoor lacrosse team, the Denver Outlaws. They play in INVESCO Field and are sanctioned by Major League Lacrosse. The Denver Outlaws won the Western Conference Championship In 2006.
Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalance – Since 1995, Denver has also been home to the Colorado Avalance, a member team of the National Hockey League. The Avalance have won two Stanley Cups (1996 and 2001) and play at Pepsi Center, which also hosts the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association, the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League and the Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League.
