Recently, I had a lunch date in the Highlands and we ended up at Nick’s Diner located at 3743 Federal Blvd. We wanted to try a place we had never been to.  Who doesn’t love diner food? Diners never fail to deliver delicious, nostalgic American fare. We were game! We pulled into the lot and headed in to this cute little diner.  It’s an eclectic, cozy place. We were greeted by a friendly gal and shown to our window booth.

I had the BLT, which was amazing. Say what you want but BLT’s are an under-appreciated sandwich. There’s just something about that bacon, lettuce, mayo & tomato combo especially when it’s all done right! This one was exceptional with fresh produce, crisp bacon and delicious toasted bread.  Served up with  my favorite kind of fries, the shoestring.

My lunch date ordered the Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy served with buttered Green Beans.  Crisp skin, juicy meat to go along with savory potatoes and homemade gravy. A classic American dish, right!

 

We had friendly service, good food and the place is clean and fun!  Stop in sometime and try a BLT!
