1st pre-season game out of the way

The Broncos were on the losing end of Saturday’s game against the Bengals, but they did not walk away with their heads hung low.

The first string out played the Bengals and there is a lot of promise on both sides barring further injuries. Champ Bailey looked good and Orton continued to impress. Quinn needs to step up in the next three games or Tebow will out last him and pick up the back up spot.

Tebow looked good and experts say once he learns to read the defense, he shows great potential.

Let’s Do It, Brett Favre

Share

If you didn’t think Brett Favre was going to play this year then you don’t know Brett Favre.

You can wonder about his ankle but the doc all ready ok’d it for play so what’s left to talk about Brett Favre’s anticipated return?

How about Favre’s legacy. A bad season at his age is forgiveable but another Superbowl win will do wonders for number 4′s NFL legacy.

Favre may own numerous statistical records but he comes up short in the hardware department. Two Superbowl appearances and only one Superbowl championship.

Joe Montana’s legacy is cemented by the four Superbowl rings on his hand. Favre has thrown for more touchdowns, yards and won more regular season games but without multiple Superbowl rings to go with it it’s going to be hard to include him at the top of the all-time best lists.

In Denver John Elway’s greatness was known during his prime when he took a mediocre Broncos team to three Superbowl appearances. Then he aged like a fine wine and rode off into the sunset a back-to-back Superbowl champion and Superbowl MVP.

But that’s rare in professional sports. Really rare.

Can Brett Favre pull it off?
