Spring has officially arrived! The calendar says so, the birds are singing, and the tulips are making their brave debut… right through a fresh layer of snow. Ah yes—spring in Colorado. Where you can sip iced coffee in a T-shirt on Tuesday and shovel your driveway in a parka on Thursday.
But no matter what the weather’s doing, there’s something undeniably magical about this time of year. The days are longer, the sun is warmer (sometimes), and everything starts to feel possible again. Trees begin to bud with soft pinks and greens, gardens peek back to life, and the world transforms from winter’s grayscale into spring’s vibrant watercolor.
What do we love most about spring?
Fresh air, blooming flowers, patio brunches, buzzing bees (in theory), and the sweet sound of neighborhood kids finally escaping their winter dens. It’s a season of growth, renewal, and a few sneezes courtesy of allergy season. (Bless you in advance.)
Getting into the spring spirit? Here are a few yard and garden prep tips to get you going:
🌱 Start with a clean-up – Rake those old leaves, prune your shrubs, and give your flower beds a fresh edge. Your plants will thank you.
🌷 Plant cool-weather crops – Lettuce, spinach, and radishes love early spring soil. Bonus: they grow fast and make you look like a gardening pro.
🌼 Add mulch – It keeps weeds out, moisture in, and gives your yard that “I totally have my life together” vibe.
🌞 Prep your patio – Scrub off the winter grime, add a pop of color with outdoor pillows, and start planning those backyard BBQs!
Spring in Colorado may be unpredictable, but it’s also full of charm, laughter, and possibility. So throw on your flip-flops—with your snow boots in the trunk just in case—and soak it all in.
It’s spring—let’s enjoy it! 🌸
