Italian Festival At Belmar Draws Record Crowd

Italian Festival at Belmar

This past weekend Denver celebrated it’s Italian Community with an Italian Festival in Belmar.  Record crowds showed up to taste the culinary treats that lined the streets.  Entertainment throughout showcased singers, dancers, flag troops, all adding energy and excitement to the event. There were also opportunities to learn the Italian language, smash grapes and play Bocce on some Bocce ball courts that were setup for the event. It wouldn’t be a Festival Italian style without Bocce ball right!

Street artists worked away while the crowds watched as their creations came to life. Sidewalk cafes were full of people enjoying Italian baked goods, Italian coffee and Italian wine. Pizza, meatball and sausage sandwiches were the big draw for most people, who could resist fine Italian cooking?

The Paul Mitchell crew was also there providing $10 hair cuts and from the look inside the salon many people took advantage of the deal.

Outdoor festivals, or galas, are a great way for communities to come together and the Italian Festival at Belmar was certainly a big hit and enjoyable event. This is definitely one festival I will look forward to each year.
