John Elway announced Case Keesum err Keenum as the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos. This was good news. Keenum came at a much lower cost than Kirk Cousins would have and is every bit as good a quarterback.
Keenum also signed a short-term contract meaning the Broncos are not tied to him for the long run and can move on as soon as they want. Whether that is to a drafted QB or if Paxton Lynch develops as Elway and the Broncos hope he will. Either way the stage is set for Keenum to take the reigns and make the most of it.
“We got our guy. The guy that was our target.” – John Elway on Case Keenum. The Broncos got what they wanted and are poised to improve on last year’s 5-11 season. Keenum will wear number 4 as number 7 is, of course, not available in Denver.
Meanwhile Trevor Siemian has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings. Here’s what Trevor’s numbers look like vs. Case Keenum’s from a statistical standpoint.

The Broncos drafted Paxton Lynch in the first round. They just signed Case Keenum. Why would they spend another first round pick on a QB? I cannot see that happening
