Are you like me?
Do you pine for a visit to a street side Parisian cafe?
Do you fancy looking at fabulous French art while enjoying some delicious wine?
Or perhaps crave an amazing culinary treat made with the freshest ingredients available?
If so then it is imperative that you head straight to Off the Vine in Englewood to satisfy all of these fantasies at once!
Off the Vine is owned and operated by a vivacious, full of life gal named Megan. She took over Off the Vine and brought her life-long dream to fruition. Let me tell you this chica knows what she is doing. It truly shows when you love what you do.
Megan decorated the place with her personal collection of French art work and it is fantastic. You must see the chandeliers too, wow!
We went on a pleasant, sunny afternoon.
We ordered a bottle of their finest White Wine, we ended up with a Blanc/Sauvignon blend, which was delicious.
The freezing cold, ice water was the perfect touch to quench our thirst.
The wine was lovely.
Of course, we came for the wine, but stayed for the food, it was heavenly.
We ordered the cheese plate, meat plate, olives and all the fixings.
I know right!? It was as wonderful as it looks! Fresh Mozzarella, Stilton with Apricot, Brie and a Chipotle Cheddar. Served up to accompany this quartet of cheeses are honey (straight from the owners family farm!!!), slivered almonds, a scrumptious fruit and jalapeno jam.
Pancetta, Procuitto and Summer Sausage, served with a yummy Cherry Chipotle Jam.
No words needed.
But let me tell you, we tried every combination we could think of…
Every bite was amazing, every bit unique, this is a true culinary treat.
It isn’t everyday you find a treasure like this! I was blown away, as were my taste buds.
