Poll - Who's the better QB - Peyton or Eli Manning
Who’s the better quarterback – Peyton or Eli Manning? Try starting this conversation up sometime, it’s great bar-room or coffee table talk that’s for sure.
Peyton Manning’s first touchdown pass as a Denver Bronco will break the Broncos all-time record for most touchdowns by a Broncos quarterback because it will be Manning’s 400th in his career. 100 more TD passes than John Elway threw for in his storied 16 year NFL career.
Peyton’s little brother, Eli Manning, is 2-0 in his two Superbowl appearances – Peyton is 1-1 having lost a Superbowl in 2009 to the New Orlean Saints. It took Peyton 9 seasons to win his only Superbowl while Eli has only played 8 seasons in the league.
Some people have tweeted their two cents on this question like @MrSears92 who likes Peyton over Eli because of his stats.
Peyton Manning’s career quarterback rating is 94.9, Eli’s is only 82.1. So who’s better? The uber accurate, 2 minute-drill master, Peyton, or the clutch, play-off tiger Eli?
The brother’s Manning don’t necessarily like to get into this discussion as far as anybody can tell. They are good friends and it’s said that Peyton did not want to play in little brother’s division, which was one benefit among many for the Broncos in landing the free-agent quarterback of the century. Eli plays in the NFC North, the Broncos are in the AFC West.
Peyton has thrown for 12 more playoff TD’s but has more playoff losses than Eli but Peyton’s completion percentage is 1.6% higher for what that’s worth. What does it all mean?
That’s what makes these sort of questions fun to argue about. Then you can get into other questions like, which Manning brother would you pick if there was .50 seconds left, you had the ball at your own 35 and you’re down by 4 points?
In real life, if the Brothers Manning are to play each other in the playoffs – it would have to be in the Superbowl. And that would be really awesome to see.
